Apple Orchard Mountain

Has anyone hiked Apple Orchard Mountain--not to the falls, but up the Mountain, past the rock formation called the Guillotine, etc? Is it possible to do a loop hike, and if so, how many miles would that be? Any info you have would be much appreciated!

Blue Ridge Bike Tour...Va & NC

I am hoping to hook up with a tour company that offers a moderate priced tour of the start to finish of the Blue Ridge Parkway. My wife and I are fairly strong riders capable of averaging 80-90 miles per day. Any suggestions are welcomed. We've seen some $300+ per day tours which doesn't quite fit into retirement allocations. An alternate might be a sagged camping trip but we would prefer meals and lodging.

My 13 (almost 14) year-old son needs someone to mountain bike with, since he leaves me in the dust. He is an intermediate rider who also races. We are in the Roanoke area, but for fun could sometimes travel a bit for a good ride. Any other teen riders out there?

trail map - smith mountain lake

I live in Richmond but spend a few weeks every summer at Smith Mountain Lake State Park. They have a bunch of hiking/biking trails that are relatively new, but oddly enough the park doesn't offer a trail map. I came across one recently on-line but didn't print it and now can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know of an updated trail map for this area?
